GUARDIAN GDOs WITH SECUREMOTE® TECHNOLOGY

Santa Fe Springs, CA, May 13, 2014--At the 2014 IDA EXPO, Guardian Access & Door Hardware announced a partnership with Delphian Systems to include their SecuRemote® Bluetooth technology into its GDOs. Guardian initially plans to offer this option to customers on a direct factory ship basis.

SecuRemote® is a technology platform that makes products fully interoperable with mobile and personal Bluetooth Smart® (BLE) devices. A garage door opener, lock or other device equipped with SecuRemote® can be operated directly through a smartphone. The wireless communication is transparent to the user and is handled through the free SecuRemote® app. Through its mobile network, a user’s smartphone also communicates with securemoteonline.com, a system that allows the user to manage, monitor and control all devices.

BLE provides devices the ability to communicate with considerably reduced power consumption while maintaining a suitable communication range, opening interoperability to a wider range of products. In addition, superior protocol security, control of authentication and flexibility in establishing access authorization sets SecuRemote® apart from the competition.
Products outfitted with SecuRemote® can directly communicate with mobile devices within a range of 120’ or even higher. “A smartphone and the GDO use the Bluetooth communication standard adopted by the mobile phone community. When paired and authorized, your phone and others will be able to operate your garage door opener without the need of a Gateway”, says Brian Strzalka, General Manager of Guardian Access & Door.

SecuRemote® smart modules use a proprietary wireless network feature that allows them to connect with hundreds of like devices in any one location. The network can connect to the cloud directly through a Gateway or cellular bridge, providing access globally. This wireless network is completely closed and secure.
